Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

I get it! We all get busy, but here is a last minute yet heartfelt gift idea that will be sure to make your loved ones smile. I have added in a few “tricks and tips“ so be sure to check them out as well!

Ingredients:

  • 20 Strawberries, at room temperature
  • 12 oz Semi-Sweet Chocolate
  • 2 Tablespoons Shortening or Coconut Oil

Directions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a double-boiler (or a microwave), melt the chocolate and shortening (or coconut oil) until silky smooth.
  3. Insert toothpicks at the top of each strawberry.
  4. While holding the strawberries with a toothpick, dip each strawberry into the chocolate mixture and lay on a prepared baking sheet.
  5. (Optional) Dust with colorful sprinkles, drizzle white chocolate or nuts over the strawberries before the chocolate hardens.
  6. Let the strawberries cool at room temperature for about an hour. Serve and enjoy.

Tricks and Tips:

  • Using ripe strawberries is key to making every bite delicious.
  • Make sure that strawberries are cleaned, room temperature and fully dry before dipping them into the chocolate.
  • You can use chocolate chips, but I have found that baking chocolate melts faster, holds firmer to the strawberry and has better taste.
  • These Chocolate Dipped Strawberries are best eaten the day you make them, but can be stored in a refrigerator in an airtight container for up to two days.
  • If eating the strawberries the day of, leave strawberries uncovered, at room temperature and out of the sun.

Check out my reel on Instagram to watch me do the above steps.

Sending much love!
