Food Writing on the Ranch

$125.00

Sunday, June 24, 1:00 - 5:00pm

Enjoy an afternoon on historic Rancho San Julian with 7th generation rancher Elizabeth Poett and food writer and cookbook author Georgia Freedman. Begin the afternoon discussing the different styles of food writing, from memoirs to cookbooks to reported articles, then dive into a couple of guided writing practices, with a chance to read your work and receive feedback. At the end of the day meet Elizabeth under the 100-year-old grape arbor to enjoy tea and a freshly made apricot tarts from the orchard.

Pads of paper and pens will be provided; feel free to bring a special notebook, your preferred pens, or a laptop, though charging stations will be limited.

Note: If you would like to schedule a one-on-one consultation with Georgia after the workshop to discuss a food-writing or cookbook project you would like extra guidance on, you can do so for an additional fee. Please submit your request when you register; space for consultations is limited.
